The floor plan has been finalised and the outlines of the trade fair have been laid out. The preparations are on schedule. The entrance will be a green oasis, putting visitors in the right mood. They can then enjoy all of the greenery that both trade fairs have to offer. The green carpet will lead visitors through the highlights of the trade fairs:
Sample trade fair: unique range of garden plants for autumn and late summer
The GROEN-Direct autumn trade fair is traditionally the largest trade fair for nursery products with more than 15,000 square metres of living catalogue. Visitors can expect a range of garden plants for autumn and late summer that is unique to Europe: you can choose from more than 6,000 sample sets at the sample trade fair. There is also room for a presentation of more than 25 concepts, which can be bought in different sizes and in smaller order units.
Start of Christmas tree presales
The presale of Christmas trees (which lasts until mid-September) will begin at the autumn trade fair. The atmospheric presentation of the Christmas trees is unique: 1000 m² of various types and qualities. During the trade fair, visitors can take advantage of the trade fair offer and the ‘Best Deal’. The Christmas trees come in no less than 120 different combinations of type and size, both potted and sawn.
Direct contact with the grower on the Product Promotion Square
On the Product Promotion Square (GROEN-Direkt), 150 growers will draw even greater attention to their products. Here, visitors can shake hands with growers in person, the grower’s entire product range is on sale, and customisation of products is possible.
Showcases at Plantarium: Novelties and Press Award
No less than 95 novelties were submitted for the showcase at Plantarium, of which 88 were eventually accepted. The judging of the plants will be carried out by the judges of the Royal Society for Boskoop Cultures (KVBC). An overview of the novelties can be found on the website.
The Press Prize is awarded by a jury of international trade journalists, and receives international media attention. The Press Award is presented in two categories: Garden, balcony and terrace plants, and Concepts. This year we have received seven entries in the Garden plants category and seven in the Concepts category. The novelties and submissions for the Press Prize will be prominently displayed in the hall along the green carpet.
Plantarium 2018 has about 175 stands. With an exhibition area of 12,000 m², the organisers have opted for a compact layout. There is plenty of variety in both participants and stands. From large, shared stands to smaller stands with a basic construction. A total of 250 companies are involved in Plantarium. Some are not physically present, but do display products, such as submitters of novelties and on shared stands like Royal FloraHolland.
Plantarium 2018 and GROEN-Direkt’s autumn trade fair will take place under one roof from 22 to 24 August 2018 at Denemarkenlaan 11. The site can be reached via the familiar car park at Greenpark Boskoop (Denemarkenlaan 9). The opening times are from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm and until 4.00 pm on Friday. Entry is free with a promotional ticket or by digital pre-registration.
